Heart Ache has brought me to this place
Again
Familiarity envelps me, protects me
Shelters me from the blow of another knife
Mist envelops my skin, waves rise and ebb all around me
Bending, I hold a crested wave in my hands, caressing tenderness
itself
I hold it to my heart, now throbbing with the longings of a poet
and pains of a hopeless lover
The depth of longing both terrifies and excties me
Until...
Water falls from the cracks in my fingers... the cracks in my heart
As it blends back into a faceless ocean, all I can do is weep,
Crawling back to familiarity to revive another drowning heart
As tear-filled eyes gaze forlornly
At another lost tide.

"Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell."
Yeah, that was back when I was trying to sort out a few things. God's gettin' all up in it, so things are better since I started trying to listen to Him more....as usual.
